It's possible to switch the colors so that there is white text with a black background instead of the white background with black text. I suggest you try this if you have never had a chance to read something with the color scheme switched, its completely changed my relationship with the internet now that my eyes aren't taxed as much. I've easily doubled my reading with this trick. This is also possible on mobile devices though you have to dig it out of the settings. Using the Ctrl + and Ctrl - with this helps a lot if you think its harder to read.

The Argument

Just to give the argument in its purist form so that other people can understand the train of thought that is being suggested, (instead of trying to give an answer to every possible objection that would satisfy every single interpretation, which would get tedious and away from the larger point) imagine I wave a magic wand and conjure up an emperor of the planet. This emperor has an unlimited bank account and has all of the correct connections with all of the correct people. Lets just say this emperor then decided they were going to spend 10 trillion dollars on the largest Manhattan style project ever seen where thousands of the best scientists and engineers humanity has to offer deliberately went about automating as many jobs as technically possible. There would be such a massive systemic crisis that it would make the the Great Depression look like it was a sick joke. This project would cause such a fundamental paradigm shift in the values society and individuals operate with that there would need to be a complete re-evaluation of how people relate to the world. With this in mind, return to our non-magic wand world and look around, look at what COULD be done without magical emperors popping out of nowhere and look at how people currently relate to their world.

This argument is an addition to or might be the pre-requisite of the "An Ideal Form" post. Not sure what would be the best order for these arguments, (its just that they go together) but I feel are best thought of in separate posts.

What this Blog is for:

I want this blog to be a kind of a public diary where people are able to give feedback to the ideas and help in their growth. Obviously this is an outlet for me to present ideas I feel are legit and to challenge ideas that are not legit which will hopefully provide some sort of stimulation that people enjoy and (ideally) are COMPELLED to contribute to, but in an odd way its more for my own education than for everybody else since I know there will be much more feedback than I will be able to handle, but I welcome it openly.

Money Stuff

You can suggest ideas for me to think about blogging on, whether or not I take your suggestion will have a high correlation with how awesome the idea is. Obviously those who contribute more than the Titan level will have preferential treatment. There will also be private essays done that members will be able to participate in via the private google group for this blog. At the moment I am hesitant to set up any other rules though you can suggest something you might like to see.
